Μια μπάντα “βοηθείας”

Η Band Aid υπήρξε μια φιλανθρωπική οργάνωση από Βρετανούς και Ιρλανδούς η οποία ιδρύθηκε το 1984 από τους Bob Geldof και Midge Ure με σκοπό τη συλλογή χρημάτων προς βοήθεια και ανακούφιση της πείνας των κατοίκων της Αιθιοπείας. Προς υλοποίηση του σκοπού αυτού δημιουργήθηκε το γνωστό σε όλους μας Χριστουγεννιάτικο κομμάτι “Do They Know It’s Christmas?”.

Αυτές όμως είναι πληροφορίες που λίγο πολύ όλοι όσοι έχουμε ακούσει το κομμάτι γνωρίζουμε. Αυτό που εγώ δεν γνώριζα (και ελπίζω και πολλοί από εσάς) είναι πως μετά την πρωτότυπη εκτέλεση του εν λόγω κομματιού (το οποίο κυκλοφόρησε σε 12” δίσκο, σε παραγωγή του Midge Ure και μίξη του Trevor Horn), το 1984, υπήρξαν άλλες δύο εκτελέσεις του το 1989 και 2004 αντίστοιχα. Το Newsfilter.gr με χαρά παρουσιάζει και τα 3 video clips των εκτελέσεων της εκπληκτικής αυτής προσπάθειας μαζί με σχόλια για το ποιοι γνωστοί καλλιτέχνες συμμετείχαν κάθε φορά.
